Collect a golf club and ball from the course manager. Choose a unique ball colour to avoid confusion during the game.
Play from Hole 1 through to Hole 18 in order.
Playing order is set at the start. From Hole 2 onwards, the player with the lowest score at the previous hole goes first, followed by the others in the pre-assigned order (rotating from that player). Ties go to whoever played first in that hole.
Players take turns stroke by stroke — Player A takes one stroke, then Player B, and so on — until all players have holed their ball or reached 6 strokes.
Place your ball within 30cm (12 inches) of the starting line for your first stroke. Follow-up strokes are played from where the ball rests.
If your ball is too close to the boundary to strike, you may move it up to 15cm (6 inches) to create room.
Scores range from 1 to 6 per hole. Some holes have special rules (displayed on-site) that may allow a score of 0. Scores are always capped at 6.
A valid stroke is a single clean contact with the club face. Invalid strokes (double-hit, pushing, hitting another ball) result in an automatic score of 6.
If your ball goes out of bounds, you score 6. If another player’s valid stroke sends your ball out, you still score 6 — their game continues normally.
If another player’s stroke sends your ball into the hole, you score however many strokes you had taken up to that point.
The player with the lowest total score after all holes wins. Two-way tie: coin flip. Three or more tied for first: draw.
